Several Cubs coaches reportedly expected to return |
The Chicago Cubs will have a mix of old and new coaches for the 2020 baseball season.
Pitching coach Tommy Hottovy, hitting coach Anthony Iapoce, and assistant pitching/catching coach Mike Borzello are expected to return next season according to a report by Patrick Mooney of The Athletic. It's probably a smart move to keep some cohesion among the coaching staff with a new rookie manager that has never managed professionally at any level. Other changes today on the coaching side of things included Chris Young as the new bullpen coach and Chris Denorfia not being brought back as Cubs quality assurance coach. Hold on tight because the Cubs are making a ton of moves to try to get back on track with the new leadership under David Ross. The Cubs’ 2020 MLB pitching infracture will include Tommy Hottovy (pitching coach), Chris Young (bullpen coach), Mike Borzello (associate pitching, catching and strategy) and Brad Mills (advance scouting and run prevention).@sahadevsharma 1st on hiring of Young.
