Bulls News: Dexter Fowler traded to the Angels, reunited with Joe Maddon |
A former Cubs favorite is no longer a member of the rival Cards.
The St. Louis Cardinals announced on Thursday night that they have traded veteran outfielder Dexter Fowler to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. “We are extremely grateful for everything that Dexter has done for us over the past four years, both on the field and with his generous work in the community,” said Cardinals President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak. “With the expectation that we will have plenty of competition in the outfield this season, and with Dexter’s approaching free agency, we felt that this deal made the most sense for all parties.” Fowler will be reunited with former Cubs manager Joe Maddon with the Angels. The 34-year-old outfielder has played in 13 MLB seasons and will be a free agent after the 2021 season. Overall for his career, he has 253 doubles, 82 triples, 127 homers, 148 stolen bases, and 516 RBIs across 1,452 MLB games.
