Busch is on fire!

Chicago Cubs first baseman Michael Busch smacked a two-run homer to right-center, putting the Cubs up 3-0 in the fourth inning of Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners.

It was his fourth straight game with a homer, and it traveled an impressive 437 feet. He is the only Cubs rookie since 1901 with homers in four straight games.

The Cubs record for consecutive homers in a row is five, with sluggers Christopher Morel, Sammy Sosa, Ryne Sandberg, and Hack Wilson achieving this feat.

Busch already has five homers and 11 RBIs on the young season.

“The opportunity means a lot,” Busch said recently with his shot at first base with the Cubs. “Try not to take it for granted. You can get caught up in the season sometimes but you still get to put a Major League Baseball uniform on each and every day. And it’s an honor that I don’t take very lightly.

“I try to show up and play hard every day for them. That’s something I’ll do for the rest of my career.”
