TEXAS: Will be in his third season as Rangers hitting coach after being hired on Nov. 5, 2015…this is also his third year on a Major League coaching staff…team's 1564 runs in 2016-17 rank as 4th-most in the American League to only BOS (1663), HOU (1620), and CLE (1595)…in 2017, Texas became the first team in MLB history to have at least 9 players hit 17-ormore home runs…club homered at least once in a club-record 129 games last season…pronounced "eye-uh-poh-SEE"

COACHING HISTORY: Prior to joining the Rangers, spent three seasons (2013-15) as the Chicago Cubs' Special Assistant to the General Manager/Player Development, overseeing that club's Minor League hitting program while contributing to additional projects for the organization…also spent three seasons as Toronto's roving hitting coordinator from 2010-12 after beginning his coaching career in the Marlins system from 2006-09…while with the Marlins, served as hitting coach at High-A Jupiter (2008-09), A-level Greensboro (2007), and Short-A Jamestown (2006).

PLAYING HISTORY: The former outfielder played 11 Minor League seasons in the Brewers and Marlins systems, as well as for the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the independent Northern League, from 1994-2005…selected by Milwaukee in the 33rd round of the 1994 draft…reached the Triple-A level four times and was a career .273 hitter with a .342 on-base percentage in 845 professional games.

PERSONAL: Anthony Joseph Iapoce…he and wife Suzanne have two daughters, Lily (9/12/12) and Abby (10/12/15), and a son, Anthony (3/29/17)…graduated from McClancy High School in his native Queens, NY, in 1991…played collegiately at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
