Chicago Cubs outfielder Matt Szczur has been designated for assignment and lefty reliever Rob Zastryzny has been recalled by the ballclub on Saturday. The Cubs will now have nine men out of their bullpen to help a tired group.
Szczur is out of options with the Cubs and will more than likely latch on to a different major league team. In 2017, he has batted .211 with three RBIs. The Cubs will face the Yankees tonight at Wrigley Field.
