If Theo waits the until July waiver to fix his pen he won't need to because the Cubs will be 34 games out.

Like he did in early April, it is time for him to shuffle them off to Des Moines and bring in the next circus wagon. As I mentioned the other day to a loyal reader on these very pages, the closer isn't the issue, they are blowing leads long before he comes in the game.

I agree Happ and any pitcher in the pen is available in trade. I disagree on Russell. They are not "showcasing" him, they are bringing him back slowly since this is like his spring training. He is going nowhere. Think Descalso, Caratini, Schwarber as primary trade bait.

Don't be shocked if Theo goes out and gets another starter either if someone that can help becomes available. Hello Trevor Bauer.

Cubs fans genuinely expect them to go 162-0 every year and are stunned when they don't. 100-62 will be just fine.
