Star Vikings receiver out against Bears, to be placed on IR |
Tough news for Vikings fans.
Star receiver Justin Jefferson will be placed on the injured reserve with his right hamstring strain he suffered in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, according to multiple reports. Jefferson will be out for at least four games. The Bears (1-4) will face off against the Vikings (1-4) on Sunday as this injury news will greatly impact the game, as Jefferson is one of the top playmakers in the NFL. He is already a three-time Pro Bowler in the early stages of his pro career. He has 36 catches for 571 yards and three touchdowns this season. Last season, he had 128 catches for 1,809 yards. The #Vikings plan to place WR Justin Jefferson on injured reserve because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Kansas City, per sources. Here are a few angles of how the injury to Vikings WR Justin Jefferson happened. Certainly looks like the turf contributed (Travis Kelce slipped awkwardly on it Sunday too). Bears play the Vikings this week, but they will be without Justin Jefferson, who has 5,396 career receiving yards in 55 NFL games —- more than any Chicago Bears’ player in their 100+ year history. The Bears’ all-time leading receiver is Johnny Morris with 5,059 receiving yards.
The exact timeline is TBD based on how he responds to treatment. But Jefferson is out at least four games. pic.twitter.com/hBAYZHZqlV
