Bears waive 24 players, terminate contracts of six veterans, place WR on IR |
To say that Tuesday was a busy day for the Chicago Bears would be an understatement.
The team announced that they have waived the following 24 players to get down to the 53-man mandatory roster: Micah Baskerville, linebacker Travis Bell, defensive tackle Robert Burns, fullback Stephen Carlson, tight end Macon Clark, cornerback Kellen Diesch, tackle Dieter Eiselen, guard DeMarquis Gates, linebacker Trevis Gipson, defensive end Jalen Harris, defensive end Bobby Haskins, tackle D'Anthony Jones, defensive end Josh Lugg, guard Roy Mbaeteka, tackle Michael Ojemudia, cornerback Lachlan Pitts, tight end Bravvion Roy, defensive tackle Logan Stenberg, guard Davion Taylor, linebacker Bralen Trahan, safety Kindle Vildor, cornerback Barrington Wade, linebacker Mykal Walker, linebacker Kendall Williamson, safety Six veteran players had their contracts terminated and will become free agents to sign with any team: Andrew Brown, defensive tackle Aviante Collins, tackle Daurice Fountain, receiver Nathan Peterman, quarterback Greg Stroman Jr., cornerback Nsimba Webster, receiver The team also placed receiver Isaiah Ford on injured reserve and waived running back Trestan Ebern with an injury designation.
