by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears announced that they have signed six free agents who participated in last week's rookie mini-camp tryout.

Part of the six players were two veterans: receiver Freddie Swain and tight end Tommy Sweeney.

Swain has caught 42 passes for 576 yards and six touchdowns in 37 games as an NFL pro with time with the Seahawks, Broncos, and Dolphins.

Sweeney has registered 18 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown during his time with the Bills. He was signed by the Giants in 2023 but was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.

The four rookies that they signed included Nevade receiver and Caleb Williams' friend John Jackson, Arkansas State cornerback Leon Jones, Arizona State defensive tackle DaShaun Mallory and Georgia Tech linebacker Paul Moala.
