CHICAGO — A go-ahead "Bote Bomb" from Chicago Cubs third baseman David Bote put the Cubs up 5-3 over the Washington Nationals in the bottom of the sixth on Tuesday. The dinger at Wrigley Field sailed 407 feet out to center and plated left fielder Matt Duffy.

Duffy led off the half-inning by drawing a walk with Nationals reliever Will Harris on the mound. A few plate appearances later, Bote slugged his third home run of the season. Leaving the yard at 103.9 mph and 31 degrees, the two-run jack came on an 88.6-mph cutter thrown by Harris. Bote now has 18 RBIs on the year.
