Cubs reportedly recalling outfielder after Cody Bellinger's injury |
It might be a while before Cubs fans see Cody Bellinger roaming the outfield again.
Bellinger was hit by a pitch on his left hand during Wednesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. “It’s a little swollen, a little bit of pain still,” Bellinger said. “I went down in the dugout and gripped a baseball and I just couldn’t trust myself if I needed to make a throw. So, I just decided to come out of the game.” “The range of motion is pretty good. But I've learned that you’ve got to wait for the CT scan until you can make any opinions on it.” No word yet on the CT scan but we should know more later today. For the season, 'Belli' is hitting .265 with nine homers and 37 RBIs. ESPN's Jesse Rogers is reporting that the Cubs are bringing up Triple-A Iowa Cubs outfielder Alexander Canario today, presumable to take the spot of Bellinger while he is out of the lineup. We should have the official roster moves a few hours before game time tonight.
