Bulls News: Seiya Suzuki ranked as an elite right fielder

by -

January 17, 2024 – Chicago Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki ranked sixth on MLB Now’s Top 10 Right Fielders Right Now last night. Suzuki, who makes his debut on the ranking, finished one spot ahead of George Springer of the Toronto Blue Jays and one spot behind Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres. Last week, teammate Dansby Swanson ranked fourth on MLB Now’s Top 10 Shortstops Right Now episode.

On last night’s countdown, MLB Network analyst Cameron Maybin said on Suzuki, “It was a solid rookie season, but it didn’t really overwhelm you. Last year, it really started to seem like he figured some things out. I think the thing for Seiya Suzuki is health. When he’s on the field, he’s extremely good out there in right field. You’re starting to see some things really come together. His patience at the plate I think will really see the power go up and this is a guy that is going to be a perennial right fielder for years to come in Chicago. I love what he’s doing, one of my favorite guys to watch in right field in the National League.”
