The Chicago Cubs announced on Thursday that veteran reliever Michael Fulmer is expected to miss the 2024 season after having UCL revision surgery on his right elbow Wednesday.

Fulmer had signed a one-year $4 million deal with the Cubs last season, so he will be a free agent and look for a team in 2025 if he rebounds fully.

Best of luck to Fulmer as he tries to attack rehab after the surgery.

He pitched in 58 games in 2023 with a 4.42 ERA with 65 strikeouts, and 1.33 WHIP.

In other injury news, reliever Codi Heuer completed his range of motion and healing on his rehab, but there is still no timetable for his return.

Veteran Brad Boxbert is expected to start throwing in mid-November.

Brandon Hughes, Nick Burdi, Ethan Roberts, and Nick Madrigal are all expected to have normal offseasons after their injuries this past season.
