In very interesting news, David Ross is returning to baseball. However, not with the defending champion Chicago Cubs but he has been added to the roster of the NBC's Kansas Stars.

Ross will be on the field on Saturday, July 29th for the NBC World Series at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Other players included on the roster are former pros Chipper Jones, Roy Halladay, Jake Peavy, Tim Hudson, Brad Penny, Nate Robertson, Roy Oswalt, Joe Nathan, Jeremy Bonderman, Jason Repko, Matt Diaz, and Delwyn Young.

The NBC is made up of 17 amateur and semi-amateur teams and has been around since 1934.

The Cubs already have a bright future at the catcher position with Willson Contreras and rookie Victor Caratini.

For his MLB career, Ross batted .229 with 106 homers, 314 RBI, and .316 on-base percentage.
