Justin Fields plans to break Bears' all-time passing record in 2023 |
Chicago Bears Justin Fields is hoping for a breakout season in 2023.
He recently said he is already a top five running back in NFL history after setting numerous records last season. Fields went on to say on Thursday that he believes he will be the first Bears quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a single season. "I will [throw for over 4,000 yards]," Fields said in the interview. "Plan on doing it this year." The claim made by Fields is certainly audacious, especially considering the historical context of the Bears' passing game. The current record, set by Erik Kramer in 1995 with 3,838 passing yards, has stood for nearly three decades. Fields had only 2,242 passing yards in 15 games played last season. As with any bold prediction, only time will tell if Justin Fields can deliver on his promise. Regardless of the outcome, Fields' determination to aim high and challenge records will undoubtedly be a driving force behind his growth and development as a quarterback in the league. The @ChicagoBears have NEVER had a passer throw for 4,000 yards in a single season.
