ESPN host Pat McAfee claims that FBI raided Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams' home

The Chicago Bears have been a dumpster fire since the beginning of the 2023 NFL season.

The Bears offense has been offensive to watch as Justin Fields and the playmakers have not made much an impact so far in the 0-2 start.

Add defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigning this week, and it's a mess at Halas Hall.

There were rumors this week that the FBI raided Williams' home, but NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport and other reports shot it down.

However, ESPN host Pat McAfee claims that the FBI did raid Williams' residence.

"It has been speculated, and [Williams'] attorney has come out and said there was no crime that has taken place and unequivocally answered these questions saying "nothing went wrong with my potential client",' McAfee said. 'But any time you hear about an FBI raid happening, you assume that [when] there's smoke, there's a fire."

McAfee continued, "We will say - I mean, we've been sued for a lot of stuff - but our sources have told us, told me than an FBI raid did happen on [Williams'] house."

McAfee played on a team when Williams was a coach, so he knows him well.

"I would like to say, as someone who played on a team where Alan Williams was a coach, I could never have expected what some of these outcomes could be from him. But I don't think anybody ever expects that from somebody that is successful and potentially gets caught up in a situation where their house is getting FBI raided."

Williams' attorney denies that the FBI raided Williams' home.

"I would like to say as someone who played on a team where Alan Williams was a coach, I could never have expected what some of these outcomes could be from him," he told NBC Sports Chicago. "But I don't think anybody ever expects that from somebody that is successful and potentially gets caught up in a situation where their house is getting FBI raided."
