Roster Moves: Bears sign talented linebacker, waive linebacker |
Another nice move by the Monsters of the Midway.
The Chicago Bears announced on Monday that they have signed veteran linebacker Mykal Walker. The former Falcons linebacker had 107 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, and six pass breakups last season. During his three years in the NFL, he has three interceptions, 11 passes defended, one touchdown, 187 tackles and one sack. He was due $2.7 million for performance escalators in the last year of his contract with the Falcons, and they decided to waive him. The 25-year-old was initially drafted by the Falcons in the 2020 NFL draft. In a corresponding move on the 90-man roster, the Bears have waived linebacker Kuony Deng to make room for Walker. Deng was a rookie in the NFL out of California. He was signed by the practice squad last December.
